The annual holiday Christmas in the Village at Dakota City Heritage Village in Farmington has added Friday evenings to the annual lineup of dates.

The village will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and Dec. 13, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 15. Trees will be lit inside and outside the decorated 1900s era buildings. Visitors can take horse-drawn trolley rides around the village and that is included in the price of admission.

Children can visit with a Victorian-costumed St. Nick and write a letter to Santa assisted by Mrs. Claus. Youth can make holiday crafts to take home. Singers and musicians will perform in the church. Interpreters in costume will staff the historic buildings.

Volunteers in the Harris House will bake and cook on a wood-burning stove. Hot food and beverages will be sold in the drugstore. Candy, gifts and vintage toys will be available in the gift and confectionery shop.

Admission price for Christmas in the Village is $5 per person for those ages 13 and up, $3 for 4 years through 12, and children under 3 years are admitted free.

Dakota City is located at 4008 220th St. W., on the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington.
