Olivia Keske will represent Northfield in the Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization candidate program from July 17 to 22.

Last year's Queen of the Lakes, Vanessa Gonzalez, and her predecessor Carolyn Meyer were also from Northfield, marking the first time in history that two Aquatennial queens came from the same community.

This year, 49 candidates will participate. One young women is chosen to be Queen of the Lakes, and two women are chosen as princesses. The selection team considers professionalism, public speaking ability, current and future goals, education and extracurricular activities. Candidates participate in leadership, personal development and visiting local landmarks.

Community members are invited to support their representative at the Meet the Candidates event from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18 at the Minneapolis City Center rotunda. Coronation and reception will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 22 at the Ted Mann Concert Hall, University of Minnesota.
