Mildred Marilynne (Mixa, Lehrer) Derauf

Mildred Marilynne (Mixa, Lehrer) Derauf, 85 of Minneapolis formerly of Montgomery, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Augustana Nursing Home in Apple Valley.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

Mildred was born on May 19, 1928 to Francis and Emma (Erkel) Gibbs in Le Sueur County. She married Raymond Mixa on November 18, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1979. She married Doctor Alfred Lehrer on September 19, 1981. He preceded her in death in 1990. She married Ben I. Derauf on July 17, 1996. Mildred worked as a Medical Technologist for the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, Family Medical Center in Montgomery and Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague.

She was very active in St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery and was a member of the University of Minnesota Extension group.

She is survived by husband; Ben I. Derauf, children Candy Marx of Mazeppa, Scott Mixa of Grand Rapids, Steve Mixa of Apple Valley; four grandchildren, sibling, Jim Gibbs of Grand Forks, step-children and step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Kids Alive International, Hamline University or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
