2011: 29 teams, 34 schools, 707 athletes

* The MSHSCTL is expecting more than 3,000 participants for 2013.

Trap Shooting has grown throughout Minnesota over the past decade, and the most obvious evidence of that came at the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Board of Directors meeting on Dec. 6, 2012.
At that meeting, the board approved a presenting partner state tournament with the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League (MSHSCTL) beginning in June 2014, which is likely the first step in making trap shooting a sanctioned MSHSL activity in the future.
