Not every student dared go barefoot in the rain on Tuesday, but plenty of students and staff members participated in the barefoot day at South Central College as part of the nationwide initiative, “One Day Without Shoes,” sponsored by TOMS footwear. (Photo provided)

Shoes donations are being accepted through Friday, May 2. Shoes may be dropped off at the South Central College bookstore from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Women's and children's shoes are encouraged, as the donations will go to Ruth's House. Shoes suitable for women to wear on job interviews are needed.
Shoes do not need to be new to be donated.
