The 2013-2014 school year will bring changes in the way social studies is taught in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Education will adopt several new standards for teaching social studies prior to implementation by educators and district staff throughout the state.

    This would be a better move if we could implement a remedial program for our politicians to attend so they would be at least as responsible and knowledgeable as our seventh graders.
    More instruction on personal finance and economics is long overdue. I like the changes.
