A Faribault woman, wielding two knives, chased her longtime boyfriend earlier this week after she learned he cheated on her, according to court documents.

Faribault Police arrested Cynthia Belle Gammiere, 42, at her home on the 600 block on 10th Street Southwest on Tuesday after they were called to the home for a report of a woman chasing a man around with a knife.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Rice County District Court, Gammiere admitted to first threatening her boyfriend’s vehicle with a hammer and then finding two knives and chasing him around. She told police she never intended to stab him.

The alleged incident began when Gammiere found out her boyfriend had cheated on her. She told police she had slapped him across the face while in a gas station parking lot and then walked back to her home.

A neighbor told police he heard Gammiere say, “That’s right, I’m going to stab you and [expletive] kill you.” The witness also said he saw Gammiere chase the man while making poking and slashing motions with the knives, the complaint said.

Gammiere is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and a $14,000 fine. She is also charged with two counts of domestic assault, both misdemeanors.

I saw a comment was postsed, and thought it must be the obligatory "you don't know him/her, he/she is such a nice person, don't believe what the officer says, you are all so hurtful"....

That's pretty ballsy to threaten a man who has knives. I didn't read the story. Just the title.
