Rice County, in cooperation with the city of Faribault, holds an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rice County Highway Building, 610 20th Street NW, Faribault, to discuss the Lyndale Ave. N (Hwy. 48)/Fourth Street NW improvement project.

The meeting will be an open house format and attendees are encouraged stop by any time between 5 and 7 p.m. There will not be a formal presentation.

Lyndale Avenue and Fourth Street are important roadways in the city of Faribault, serving residential, commercial and industrial areas. In an effort to reduce right-angle and left-turn crashes, a three-quarter intersection is proposed. A three-quarter intersection eliminates the minor side street (Fourth Street) left turns and through-movements. While the proposed intersection configuration will prevent left turns and through-movements from 4th Street, the area has good street connections to support vehicle rerouting and circulation within the local area of this intersection.
