Generation II Big Band at Central Park

Posted: Tuesday, July 3, 2012 4:57 pm

The Generation II Big Band will return to the Central Park Band Stand at 7 p.m. on Thursday (today) to perform a concert of American dance band music from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. The concert is co-sponsored by Faribault Parks and Recreation and the Keith DeJong family. These musicians have been performing together up and down the Mississippi River Valley for nearly 20 years. Approximately half the band is from Wisconsin and the other half from Minnesota. The band specializes in the music of Glen Miller and Benny Goodman, which features clarinetist Dr. David Townsend.
